Brakes are 4 wheel disc, were not back then, frame is boxed good and strong, axles I will give you that but have 100,000 kil warranty (60,000 miles). and I don,t think they will be taking a beating. Have to admit I am enjoying everyones thoughts
Thanks

Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, 09 F-150 is comparable to 99-2000 F-250 's. From exp. I would step up F-250 w/ v-10 & a steeper gear 3.73 or 4.10. I tow a 30 ft. 5th-wheel it weighs 10,000 lbs. I did it with my F-250, it was not a good experience. It was ok at best on flat land, but on the hills it was bad. This is why you need to know weights of the truck & trailer loaded & ready to camp.

Good Luck!!!!

They have trailers (newer) today that are light weight and are for 150 trucks. A 93 year models are heavy. Check the weight on the trailer. I pulled a 27ft 5er with my 150. Had to bag it to hold the weight and then it was scarey to drive. Truck was to light for that big of a trailer. No way would I try to pull double with it, torque is not there on a gas burner. Sold mine and gor a diesel 250 and love it. Can sit back and relax while driving.

The trailer is 8500lbs and a tonque weight of 1600 should be able to handle it no problems

Tongue weight of 1600lbs is a HUGE amount!! You'll need a class V hitch. You really should be looking at a SD truck, that's too much for a half ton. But, you may have to learn the hard way, by doing it and realizing you have too much trailer for the truck. Hopefully you won't drag any innocent fellow drivers into your realization

Iam looking at a 24-25ft 5th wheel so I can also tow a 14foot flat trailer with my atv's,Harley's and my Ranger dependind on what Iam going to do...I will be adding the ride rite airbag sytem to keep sag to a min....Also Iam a flatlander so towing up BIG hills is going to be minimal being how MN and ND aint got much for hills...
Iam trying to stay away from a pull behind toy hauler and dont need to spend alot on a 5th wheel being how Ive found a few for the 7-12 grnd range that fit the bill...
Let me know when your headed out with that load so i can be far away in the next state.
That 5th wheel is all your 150 can handle.

You MAY be able to pull that load, but you are going to find it very difficult to STOP!

You guys are just getting to funny. Ha Ha. It sure is good to know how much more knowledge there is on this site than a true Ford mechanic who owns a dealership and an RV dealer who has way more knowledge than Fred Flintstone on here. How the heck did a 3/4 ton truck back in the late 90's-2002 tow fifth wheels? There must have been lots of sore feet back then as they did not have 4 wheel disk brakes back then. I think the brakes of today are far more superior than then.

ever hear of common sense?.... Visualize a F-150 towing a 8000# 25' 5th wheel and a 14' flatbed with 3 ATV's behind the 5th wheel. Thats got to be over 17,000# total weight and 55'-60' foot long.

Salesmen are just that... many will do ANYTHING to sell anything to you. Some will even sell you your own car!
