I got a full 1 piece set for my 88 K2500 I restored from them. IT fit well, it looked nice and its black was better looking than the factory red and complimented the interior well.
(I sold it when done, but didnt keep any finished photos - rock auto and LMC parts made a sharp looking chevy - garnet red with black trim)
Thought I'd share some before and after pics.....Overall I was very satified with both the carpet and insulation. Quality, fit, and price were great! If I could only keep my tools and junk out of it now...
I see that Rockwood has about 4 types of carpets at increasing prices. I think they get them from ACC...it has a stock number...could be wrong...might just mean Accessory.
The natural inclination in my head is to buy the most expensive of the selection. Mainly because of my fear of ending up with a real cheap falling apart carpet in 6 months.
Cut Pile - Constructed from 100% first quality Dupont yarn. $106
Cut Pile Carpet with Mass Back for additional moldability, sound deadening, and insulation $145
Essex - Super Plush, 100% Nylon Carpet $160
Essex Carpet with Mass Back for additional moldability, sound deadening, and insulation $195
Beside the obvious extra stuff...what is Essex and what is cut pile and what is Mass Back?
Or better yet what is the diff? Advantages? Disadvantages?
Fairly simple install, besides a stripped seat bolt, and a rusted seatbelt bolt everything was fairly easy. Carpet was stamped underneath for where to cut for bolts (only found that out after I was finished ) The biggest problem I had was getting the bolts through the layers of carpet, insulation and sound deadener. The truck is much quiter now though!
Went with the cutpile, had I not already put sound deadener on the cab floor I would have went with the Mass Back.
Looks to be quality carpet, though I don't plan on abusing it to find out!
I pulled carpet and seat out of a 89 or so junkyard truck. The carpet cleaned up pretty good. I layed it out in the driveway, hosed it down, little dishwasing soap and scrubbing, hose some more. pressure washer would be great but I didnt have one. Hang up to dry for a day or 2 and install. Nearly as good as new and it was FREE! heres a pic: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...203627.520.390
