Which Fuel System is the Best?

I am wanting to upgrade my fuel system and do away with the mechanical pump and bowl.Which aftermarket system is the best? Those of you that built your own could you please share what you used for a pump and filters? I am probably gonna build my own with a Super Duty pump and Racor Water Seperator or a Dahl 150 water seperator. Not sure which secondary filter to use. Also does anyone know if the Carter 74221 still available? I cannot find it anywhere.

I haven't gone electric yet but one thing that i constantly read is that the people that make there own say it would probably been cheaper and much easier to just buy a kit. If you decide to go with a homemade build here is a pretty good write up I

I voted Homemade. I haven't built mine yet but I have a few parts acquired. So far I have an Aeromotive Regulator and a SD fuel pump but I think its junk.....So I will be buying a Walbro pump then filters and heads from Napa. I will be running a primary filter in the 20-30 micron range and 2 micron secondary (post pump)filter. Hard lines up top feeding the rear of the heads with hard lines from the front of the heads to the regulator.

Building your own is a pain. Unless you have alot of the fittings on hand and lots of time for fittings and tweaking I would just buy a kit.

Walbro Pump? Haven't heard of that one . Anybody heard about problems with The FASS pumps? I'm gonna go homemade I think I have read a lot about different systems and I am convinced I can build one just as good as anythng preasaembled .
Thanks for the feedback.

Problem with the FASS pump is they are not made for a truck with two tanks./ They would be a pain to set up.

Walbro pumps are pretty much stock replacement for the SD pump but cheaper and pump more fuel.

Yes, I was just reading about the FASS pumps and came up with the same question, how do you draw from both tanks. But then there is no application for anything older than a '99. I like the looks of the Walbro pumps. Which one are you thinking of going with? Thanks for the info.

I have been leaning towards the Beans kits. That is if I can come up with the money. Otherwise I will do a DIY.

Used off ebay. Didn't save much so I would just buy a new one. It was this model
