OK, I think I have got it right this time; I re-did the standoffs to firewall bolted it on and it looks like it may just work. Angle is better, clears tranny hump as well. I like the looks of the stainless cable from Pep boys, will have to see if I can get one locally or on the web. I'm having difficulties trying to buy compression cable stops from McMaster Carr, apparently they do not ship to Canada.

Compression Sleeves

The Compression sleeves are required to shorten the cable linkage throught the firewall to pedal assembly. I have another F150 cable I'm gonig to use, but will need to be 8-10" shorter.

Most DIY stores sell compression sleeves for forming end loops on various size braided cable. (look around the chain section) A heavy walled aluminum tube you slip over the cable and thread the cable back thru in the other direction. You then swedge it on permanently with a hammer and anvil or large vise. Would that help you?
