How much end-play is normal for a stock clutch pedal?

I've tried like hell to get the lock-pin out of my stock pedal assembly on the '49 F3......Heat, cursing, BFH, etc. The main shaft pin is jammed in there hard. Looks like it was peened over at the factory and I don't want to drill it and find another.

So before I hurt myself or the assembly, would I have much to gain by putting in new bushings?

The brake pedal is pretty firm, no play.
But the clutch has 1/4" of wobble measured at the very pedal end.
For you guys who have put in new bushings.....is there still a little wobble afterward?

Thanks for any replies...
Tom

I replaced both bushings when I put mine back together. I don't have any play in either pedal. I had to replace the shaft as well as it was pretty worn. 1/4" play doesn't sound that bad though.

I would not think side play in the pedal would be an issue if you can adjust the clutch.

1/4" play at the end of an 18" long pedal probably translates to .010" slop in the shaft/bushings. Pump it full of heavy grease...
