I've been fighting with getting the throttle pedal to mount correctly , from the friewall. So far I've cut up four different pedals from the pick a part; but don't like the result. I'm looking at alternatives, if I don't get it right today.

Some of the after market street rod (big $) pedals have a full 360 degree splined rotation adjustment arm, with three linkage holes for cable attachment?

Reason: spelling
I purchased a accelerator from "partsunlimited's" for $38.00 it's the same as Lokar's I got the cable from Pepboys fro $24.00 search ebay for item #270288656442. Mounts with only 2 screws and a 3/8" hole for the throttle cable.
After mounting steering column/ wheel and bench seat, then hanging my arm out the side glass in a comfortable position..i found my rt footabout 2.5" too far away from the stock pedal...so I fabbed up a small bump-out right next to the firewall recess and mounted the pedal on that.Have you ever been on a long roadtrip and begin to realize right away that you dont fit this car? and have to endure mile after mile of an uncomfortable seat, steering wheel, brake pedal or mirror placement?
Since your doing all this stuff to your truck anyway....might as well make it comfortable...for you!...it is YOUR truck isn't it? ..LoL..Keep at it!
I modified a pedal from a mid 90's Camaro that came with the hanging clutch brake pedal assembly I used. It's a modern style with the pivot above the pedal and spring loaded floating pedal.
I spent the day working on the throttle pedal and turn signal mounting to column. I got closer to the proper mount of pedal by increasing the standoffs where it mounts to the firewall, time will tell. It seems both pedals need tweeking as far as proper angle to floor; righ now they are facing up too much to my liking. I'm going to get the truck moving then I'll adjust my pedal setup. I mounted tabs to my fabbed column; to mount an old aftermarket turn signal assembly, it used to hang on the column using hose clamps. Ill post pics once I'm finished.
I used the stock pedal and the stock throttle links mounted to the fire wall. But because the throttle on the carb is located on the opposite side (left as opposed to the original right side on the 239 flatheads) I brazed on a second arm that was 1/2 inch longer to give me the extra throttle travel. I have NO PROBLEMS gettin gthe secondaries on the Edelbrock 750 to open up and the pedal has smooth travel. I did find it needed to be twisted a dash after mounting to the cab floor to meet up and depress correctly through throttle travel.
Here's a picture:
HMMMM, don't have a picture - what's up with that, JULIE DOESN"T HAVE A PICTURE! I'm so incompotent - gonna go take one - be right back!
OK here's the pictures of my stock throttle linkage mod to support my New 390 Engine and Edelbrock Carb.
Just an option for those trying to use stock arrangement. Note the thick nylon washer shimming the mechanism out from the firewall on the drivers side. That was done to change the angle of the rod that attaches to the pedal making it's swing and travel exactly perpendicular to the pedal bottom surface instead of being offset by about 10*.
As previously mentioned, I also found the new pedal to be somewhat "off" when mounted. Works perfect now, except the "pedal actuating device" tends to be a little "Heavy!" Tee hee.
Thanks to all the input; I had originally thought of using the stock linkage and floor pedal; may still yet if this setup doesnot work. I currently have '90 Crown Vic cable linkage through firewall. Hope to match up to hanging pedal as seen below.
I forgot to mention, the Lokar pedal and they're EFI cable with the cable-end that snaps on to the throttlebody was way too easy ..
I'm not trying to spend 'your" money, but the cable is good looking, adjustable and works with the Pedal assy very crisply.
Some folks just don't want to use the "billet" stuff, and I can understand that, but is sure is a problem solver.
Check out Summit, or Jegs Catalog for a preview..Good Luck!
Thanks again; I won't get to this for another two weeks, when I get back from work. I am shying away from billet look but if it works better than what I've got now, then I will switch it out.
I was just looking at ordering the Lokar set up last night. Once you get the Eliminator pedal, stand off/spacer, cable, bracket and springs, the bill was nearly $400.00 before shipping and customs charges for us Canucks. But I'm nearly at a stage in my build where convenience over cost may win out.
This is the braided stainless steel throttle cable I got from Pepboys $24-$26, bracket $19.
The Accelerator pedal is billet with a splined shaft $38 the pedal is mounted on the firewall the bracket will be visible when I redo my interior after painting.
