I recently have imported a 2005 Excursion Ltd 6.0 diesel into Canada, I was under the impression the dealer is to be able to switch the odometer, however my local dealer insists i have to replace the entire cluster. I say crap, i have seen a couple posts on here with f-250 drivers who have put their USA model into Metric by accident.
Any ideas on how to do this myself or maybe i have to move on to the next dealer.
thanks for the info i am hoping to pass my import inspection with just adding the running lights, another one which i had both been told it could just be turned on or needs a kit, lol
The lights are a non issue ($100 at most for the kit). For the KM/Miles issue, it wasn't an issue for me when i imported my X. As long as the spedo shows both (And it should as my 2000 X does), you are OK. They MIGHT want to plaster stickers all over in French, however in MY part of town, this just wasn't necessary and was not done. So, all i had to worry about was the DRL's.
