Shiba's sick

My laptop Shiba(Toshiba) has a bug. Trend Micro finds it and says it's a reg file rs32net***** in widows/system32 but can't remove it. I've removed it a bunch of times but it just keep come'n back. McAfee is goin crazy. Keeps blocking Buffer Overflows at svchost*****, and generic trojans, and says there is a bad program Generic PUP that it can't remove and tells we to remove it with my add/remove program in windows but it's not there.

I've shut down system back up but still no luck. My brother found a link with the problem and it said to run Malwarebytes and Superspyware to remove. I have Supersyware on my desk top but neither of those on Shiba.

Anyway if'n ya get anything strange (I know kind of hard to tell) from me best to just trash it and not open it.

Keep'n yer fingers crossed I'm try'n ta get it fix'd.

Email the anti spy programs to yourself.

Then check your email on your laptop and download!

Chad it's "dot e x e" on both. And yup it's Malware. Or so stuff says. Trend Micro says so. My Brother found a thread on the "Generic PUPx" program on the McAfee site that says to run Super Spyware and Malwarebytes program while the system back up is off fixes it. When I tried to down load Malwarebytes I receive the same pop up from McAfee that it removed a Trojan virus as I do when it started up yesterday and today. Superspyware down loaded fine and when it restarted (after finding and fix'n 115 files) I didn't get the buffer over flow or generic PUP program warnings from McAfee just the Generic Trojan virus (2 or more of them).

I had a part on order and sent an e-mail request to check on it as I had no info and had placed the order over two weeks ago. A message showed up in my spam folder, who it said was from UPS Mail. It had a file attached and advised me to print off the attached receipt and contact my local UPS to get order. I did and I could not open the file when I down loaded it. I called around and nothing could be found on the tracking number listed on the subject line of the e-mail. Thats when the rs32net file showed up in my regestry. I have since received another e-mail on the part saying it is on back order and will be shipped to me after the 14th. That e-mail went to my in box.

I turned my system restore back on and shut down Shiba and went to take a nap. Shiba hasn't be off for more that a few minutes in the last day and a half. I'm gonna check and see if rs file is still there then try to delete it one more time.

Terry, how do ya e-mail the anti spyware program? I only know how to down load them off the net.

Download it on your working pc. Save it on your desktop. Then, email it as an attachment to yourself.

Check your email on your laptop, download and install the program that you have now emailed yourself.

Toshiba laptop

Happy J,

I bought my wife a new Toshiba laptop back in winter 2003/2004 from Best Buy. The battery only lasted 6 months. I went to return it and they said, "we can not warranty the battery since it is a consumable item". Huh, I didnt know I could eat it. Anyways, I looked around for a replacement battery on the internet and I seen that others are having the same problem as me. Even the replacement batteries dont last long (for my specific model anyways). You had any problems like this?

No, not at all. But my lap tops are plugged in most of the time. I did have that trouble with my Dell and had to buy another battery for it. I have Shiba on the coffee table most of the time and it is plugged in. I also use it to map trails when I travel in my Ford Explorer. I have a Joto desk and inverter so it is plugged in then also. And if I stay the night on a motel I plug it in. I've had Shiba about a year and a half.

Shiba seems to have held up more so than the Dell or IBM's I have had. I'm in the heat during the day and cold at night camping and bumpy all the time on the trails and paths I travel. And then there is all that dust. I have to clean the screen 3-4 times a day or more just to see.

Thanks Terry, that worked. I was able to down load Malwarebytes. Superantispyware took care of a bunch of it but MaAfee was still logging and removing 4 Trojan virus's everyime I turned Shiba on or ran a scan. I haven't run a scan today but when I fired it up I did not get any notifications from McAfee and when I checked McAfee's log the last time it removed those Trojan virus's was yesterday before I down loaded Malwarebytes.
