Wow i've been in the Navy almost 5 years now and once again I am working on veterans day. The only time I have ever had this day off was before I was in the Navy. Hopefully you guys that are veterans got the day off or at least a longer weekend than usual. I will be here holding down the fort sleep well.
Did anyone else know that Marines actuall started nov 10th 1775... Older then the US itself. (Interesting fact).
Thank you for those that served, and those that are serving.
It really cranks my shaft that we have Columbus day off (who might or might not have discovered the good old U S of A) and we don't get veterns day off.
I too join in thanking all who have served to protect and defend us all. I think today about my dad(deceased) and uncle who served in WWII, an uncle(deceased) in Korea, cousins in Vietnam, and a nephew in Iraq now. May God bless you all.
Dad was in the Air Force, I was in the Air Force, brother and sister where both in the Army, and mom was an Air force wife... so we are all sorta veterans in my family.
Couldn't get by without the service they do. My brother is in the Navy, my dad was in the Navy and my other brother served in the Army before he blew his knee out. Me? I tried them all but my eyes knocked me out. My vision is 20/20 with contacts but they are bad enough the military said no thanks.
