i cant think anymore after being up over 48 hrs and i want to confirm my engine is seized and its not the starter or trans...the torque converter rotates whenever the motor is running, regardless of gear right? so its not possible to rotate the converter without rotating the engine? if the trans locks up will that lock up the engine?
i bought a 95 v8 4.6l tbird monday and it ran fine...it had a tick that went away and an engine code P0102 for the MAF...almost made it home and it died...got it to start at wot but it would knock real bad and it back fired...when it backfired the entire plastic air cleaner blew up into pieces...tried to start it today with a new air cleaner and another maf...same problem and only starts at wot and needs gas to stay alive at 1-2 rpms knocking bad...felt like the starter jammed so i cranked the engine by hand and it is getting hung up...it will almost make a full rev but it jams up and i hear it hit metal on the pside...i dont understand how it could have run so well...after more attempts to start it will not crank at all and ive broken the crankshaft bolt
That is the only special thing that the PCM does at WOT during crank that I know of. Everything is pointing to an overfuel condition. It's getting much more gas than it needs.
Whst the original problem was I don`t know. It sounds now that either you have a valve stuck open (unlikely), or you have a slipped/broken timing belt/chain, or you have a bent/broken con rod.
i think it probably dropped a valve but its toast now and i dont want to waste anymore time or money on this car ive owned for a week and drove less than an hour
Lots of gas in oil, locked engine... Sounds like maybe an injector hanging open and filling a cyl or 2 with gas hydr-locking it...did youo say it was still locked with plugs out?
