I finally got around to installing the wicked wheel that has been on the shelf for 8 months now. Not sure why I have been putting it off.....just seems like everything else has taken priority. Of course now that camping season is over I won't be able to try it out much as far as towing goes but it does have a nice whistle to it at higher RPM's. It took me about 3 hrs start to finish even with a couple of breaks in between......laying over that engine isn't as easy as it use to be. About the only real problem I had was getting the down pipe off. I just had it off this spring for installing my 4" MBRP but I used the crush type clamps putting it back together so I wasn't real suprised on that issue! My old wheel did have some dusting probably from the K&N that I use to run before finding this sight, so it was needing changed out anyhow. Overall I am happy with the way things went today...now if the weather would change back to the 70's like it's been for the last couple of weeks. It's very windy and cold today even saw some sleet right after lunch today.
Congrats. on the install,Ive been meaning to go back to the stock wheel since I have the ATS housing, but havent got around to it yet. I REALLY need to get a "round tuit", I heard someone has them on sale.
did you end up pulling the fuel filter assembly or just all the y pipe cooler pipes up and down pipe. I am getting ready to tear in to mine, but not real excited about it.
Congrats on the install, not to bad of a job on the truck. It did get rid of my surge problem i had, expecially when towing..Gotta change your sig now that its in, it ain't on the shelf no more.

I didn't have to pull the filter assembly it wasn't in the way at all. I wasn't too excited about doing it either but it turned out not too bad at all.

I didn't even pull the spider out. I just loosened everything and tipped it forward. There was enough play there to clear the housing. The bottom-rear bolt is a booger-bear, though, isn't it??

I really didn't have problems with it. I had a short 12pt 5/16th end wrench that worked great!
Mine went in pretty easy just makes it interesting when you are trying to take of the compressor housing when the turbo is on.
What freaked me out was sticking a long screwdriver through the exhaust side to bind that wheel while you work the WW bolt off, jeeeess, i thought i was bending the turbines..
