What freaked me out was sticking a long screwdriver through the exhaust side to bind that wheel while you work the WW bolt off, jeeeess, i thought i was bending the turbines..
you got that right.....I'm still waiting for something to show up from that one. I didn't much like doing it that way but it's what everthing said to do from what I have read and it all worked out okay....

Not that i advise it but pull that red line off the wastegate and take it for a ride, you think it sings now, listen to it with the line off, wicked. I tried it but i put it back on, i was getting some bad mpg,s with it off the wastegate.
Can you notice a differance driving emty or is it just when towing? Xtream diesel has it for $60.
When I do it I will just have to get some local FTE'Rs to come and lend a hand..
On my truck you can hear it when you get on her a bit and when towing, you hear it constant. Before you order from them, check to see if they got it in stock First. They sell those things fast so check first before paying!! Also, if you need help with anything, PM me

Thanks for the info Mike and I will let you know if I need help. How long did it take you to do yours?

No problem. I took my time considering i never did a WW before, a little over 3.50 hours or so. I would have done it faster if i had the 12 point 3/8 socket, had to run and get one.
I am planning on doing this next month when work is slow. What if the bearings are bad?
Then a repair kit might be in order before you install the WW. To test, you grab the wheel and push in and out side to side, shouldn't be any play, very minimal if any.
I am not sure if it is bad. I have a fairly loud whine that pulsates at 50-65 mph. I have poor hearing and wear 2 hearing aids, so I have trouble finding a source for noises. Actually I was wanting it to be the turbo and not something like the rear. Nobody I have taken it to has any idea what it is.
Did you make sure all your boots are tight,IC and Plenums, no air leaks. If it seems like its coming up front, that could be your problem. Just looking at all the trucks you own, i shouldn't have to explain.
My problem is I don't know where the sound is coming from. I only hear it when driving. I have no sense of direction when it comes to noise. I always take it to be in front of me. From having to fix all sorts of things on the trucks I have some reasonable knowledge of basic things to try. But nothing has changed. None of the other trucks makes the noise. My other 01 has more miles and no noise. It doesn't start til 50 and goes away about 65 or so. It is fairly loud. How does a bad bearing sound in the turbo? Would it make a noise all the time?
I had an uppipe leak that sounded like a pulsating policemans whistle,I tightened up the leaky joint and it stopped,(I had just replaced my uppipes with the bellowed ones). When I was hard into it,it made it louder.
