Whats Goin on guys. I need some help. Im in the market for a grille guard to mount my new PAR-36 firefighter lights. I want to spend as little money as possible. I only want the grille guard section i dont need the brush guard for the headlights. Does anyone have any internet sites or know of any stores around Columbia SC i can go to. Ive already been to JCW.com and they've got some good deals (Grille Guard-Black Powder Coat for $119.99) but i dont want to buy without looking around some more. If anyone has anywhere they would recomend it would help.
THANKS SCFIREFIGHTER
The cheapest way (and it does look good) is to recess the LED style lights into the grill and in the visor. A drill, wires, and a toggle switch will be about all that you would need.
Yea that's another thing i would like to do, but i already got the par-36 lights from a buddy of mine no charge and i've been wanting to get a brush guard for a while now anyway. I will prob get led's in the grille later on. Thanks SCFIREFIGHTER
Just something to keep in mind.
Adding a grill guard is also adding some more weight. Our trucks our heavy girls as it is. If it's your daily driver, you might want to consider this.
I have one sitting in storage. Full one with the brush guard for the lights. I held off the install because of the gas prices, since I drive it everyday.
If you want something beefy as hell, try a Ranch Hand. They look great on anything and they're extremely tough. Have one on my truck and some chick clipped my front end and it didn't do any damage. I also pushed a car that was in R with parking brake on (although I don't think it did anything b/c we already towed it out of the creek) and pushed it over a curb. Only damage on both accounts was to the powdercoat.
Thanks man. I'm a firm believer in those Ranch Hands.
Buddy of mine has one on his '06 Tundra (only two Tundras where I'm at with a Ranch Hand) and one of his fraternity brothers turned left into their lot, hit his truck at a 45* angle and pushed it out into the street. The Xterra had a cr*ppy grille guard and the truck was totaled. The Tundra, on the other hand, had the Ranch Hand shifted a little bit to the right, and then some cosmetic damage. It literally saved the Tundra from being totaled which I think is a testament to its strength.
Sorry. I couldn't resist. Mainly because I always wanted an F250 crew cab, but couldn't afford it. That is a danm nice looking guard, though. What kinda price range are we talking?

haha, I knwo that's on an F250 but it lists as "Bronco" on their website. Besides, same front clip so I figured no harm no foul
However, I, too, wanted a classic HD like that. Those things are sexyyyyyy.
The guards are about $550 installed. On my truck it woulda been more hassle to do it myself than have somebody else do it. I woulda needed a few extensions and a partner to help me.
