I see so many with the foil delete and I am curious what it's good for. Also there are other doodads like CCV and so on that I have no clue what they mean. (I typically don't have a clue anyway)
Thanks,
Lusty
foil delete takes off the foil found on your intercooler pipe, taking it off dresses up your engine and you gain a bit louder wistle under throttle.
Edit:CCV=Crank Case Ventilation. Misty oil vapors leave the dog house and enter your intake and you eventually get oil residue all over your boots and may cause your boots ot "Pop Off". Do the CCV mod and it rerouts the vapors from your intake. Do a CCV search. I need to do this mod aslo.
I saw that one somewhere. It looked pretty simple. I will do that one too.
Do you see any drop in EGT with foil delete? I'm not sure I want anymore whistle. The 6637 I did makes alot more noise.
Dang, Chris! Your engine bay is *almost* as clean as mine...
This shows the CCV mod done as well. I used a piece of left over SS exhaust pipe for the CCV & 6637 couplers.
EDIT: Lusty --> Do you ever get to the DFW area?? I have left over Sol-U-Strip that takes the nasty glue right off that pipe. You're welcome to it if you get over this way...
Thanks, Joe. Comes from lack of use of the truck. I spend more time blowing the dust off than cleaning up road grime. I'm thinking on painting the tubes next and getting a cover for the fuel filter/HPOP area. The PO lost it.
A lot of folks don't like it. I kind of do, but it's not a big deal. If mine didn't have it, I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. It's like an extra 15 seconds to get to the stuff under it, so no big deal.
EDIT: I should take a new pic. I used some of that Dupont tire shine stuff last time I cleaned the engine bay so it looks pretty sharp now.
I just gives the top of the engine a cleaner look in my opinion. I found a few of Fleabay but I'm not about to spend $45 bucks for one. I even thought about fabricating one myself.

That stuff is real good. I sprayed my wheel wells with it too. Knocks the grime down pretty well.
Thanks for the advice guys. I keep my truck clean, but my wife's car is the one we show. I am a function over form guy. I am interested in the CCV though. What does the HPOP do? I have seen this a couple times too.
