I have not run my bronco in a while and cranked it up the other night. It took a while to crank and usually cranks right up! When it finally cranked, I could see fire on my carb through my air filter!
What caused that and how do I fix?
Probably your needle and seat inside the carb malfunctioned.... either due to excessive fuel pressure, or the float hung up... the carb overflowed, and you had a backfire and a carb fire.... it happens. First by a fire extinguisher designed for automotive use, then check for leaks on the carbs gaskets.
If you take the carb apart try using a hose to blow into the fuel bowl through the inlet at the front of the carb and use your hand to actuate the float inside an make sure the float works and the needle when it hits the seat shut off the airflow you are creating.
