American Racing Outlaw II polished aluminum wheels with 31x10.5 tires
I think those are the basics... the guy has photos of before and during the resto, I'll try to get a copy of some of those too. He was building it for himself, but his priorities changed when he decided to buy a house. He's a professional auto-body guy, so the paint and attention to detail are awesome. This is the second truck he's done. The first one he did for his dad and it is beautiful truck.
I'm just bummed I can't bring it to the meet on the 23rd... It's so close to being done, just another week or so.
All this talk about buying old cars and trucks is killing me!
So, drum roll please........
I have sealed a deal on a 79 F150 4x4. Was hoping to have it in time to bring to the meet on the 23rd, but I'm waiting for the rear bumper and a new set of wheels to arrive. It will be ready for me around the 26th, but I'll be out of town and actually won't pick it up until I get back on Dec 3. If I don't die of anticipation before then!
It just finished a frame off restoration, back to near-original... In keeping with that, the guy put a brand new 400 back in it, with an Edlebrock intake and 4bbl... I probably would have opted for a 390, but figure I can swap that out a couple years from now.
But, just having a 'new again' 79 F150 will keep me very happy for years to come. I've been waiting for years for something like this and was finally in the position to make it happen.
Now how in the world did I miss this yesterday! Hey, glad you finally decided to reveal this Rob, I know it's been driving you nuts! Too bad you couldn't have it for this coming weekend, we would have loved to have seen it!
and good morning all.. sorry took me a page back to catch up from yesterday afternoon.

i hate to say it, but i think i'm going to try to sell both of my old trucks.. i just haven't had time to work on them at all.. i need one that just runs and drives for now with no issues (well i have one of those, but needs a box put on it, haven't had time to even do that- wife..blah..blah.. finish the kitchen, finish the basement, clean the garage, ect.. ugh!)
Dallas, sell those two,and get you one nice one!! I know what you mean about the "wife's projects"! I have two more of those, to be finished before spring, and then I can start on the 67!

Well, I've been down there once. They are currently building the second unit. It's a coal burner plant. What are they hiring for? Is it for the construction, or to work at the plant?

This should be an awesome truck Rob! Now,just stay off of that damn bridge between Souix City, and S. Souix city in the winter time!!LOL!
well pat, from what i understand it is for Unit 2 and it will be for the year long disposal of the fly ash. Im seriously thinking about it, however it is about an hour commute each way and they are only starting at about 11-12 an hour, so im not sure if its worth it though
we should do a poll to see if he should just put some other wheels and tires on it to drive it down. lol they dont call me Cross Thread Red for nothing
