Remote start

Anyone know were I could get a quality remote With alarm and not brake the bank . It is going to start frosting out were I live and I would love to hook up my Truck. They want $560.00 installed out were I live, that sounds a bit high.

That's about what I paid to have a Viper791xv installed, but I'll admit I didn't really shop it around too much.

There is a thread in the 99-03 7.3 Diesel forum. There are high marks given for the Python 872. Check the forum, and then check this:

That's not a bad price, is that including the auto start too or is that extra. Do you know if they add door lock actuators? I'd love to add power door locks to the truck.

Searching their forum looks like add 200 roughly to the alarm package. Not that bad for what I've been quoted. Is there a cheaper way I can go?

Yes that price includes everything. Alarm,Remote start,Keyless entry the works. The guy also said something about a module for time delay because it's diesel. I guess it gives the glow plugs to do there thing.

The time delay could also be the cool down feature that will delay shutting your engine off for a few minutes to give your EGT's a chance to come down if you've been running it hard.

I was wanting to ask if that included the time delay. I guess it does, now I don't have to ask.

thats actually not a bad price for a walk in customer. especially with the time delay. i got my viper remote start for 130 bucks. but my buddy works for best buy. now i just need the bypass which is 40. but still, 170 for a full remote start, the best that viper makes. isnt bad.

check out the alarm company Carbine i have their alarm and its great...it went off when someone broke my window and stole my stereo...it didnt keep them from stealing it but it did go off, and they make a remote start feature with their alarms, and they are cheaper for the most part than viper systems
