Im trying to fix girlfriends 95 ranger 4.0 and I have been told its the dpfe sensor. A buddy of mine has a dpfe-4 sensor he will sale me for 20 bucks however the parts listing says the truck requires the dpfe-2 sensor. Will the dpfe-4 work in place of the dpfe-2 sensor. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
There are 2 different DPFE sensors for the Ranger. One is the sensor alone (part number F77A-9J460-AB, 1.0 volt). The other is the sensor with a new wiring connector (part number 3W1Z-9J460-AA, 0.5 volt). The original DPFE is aluminum. The new style is plastic. The best way to determine which sensor you need is to get the engineering number off of the original sensor and post it here. I can cross it to the correct sensor.
