99 Ranger 2.5L P1401... Replaced DPFE

All,

I have a 99 ranger with a 2.5L that keeps throwing the p1401 code. I have replaces the DPFE sensor 3 times (finally with the motorcraft one), the egr valve, the egr tube, EVR solenoid, DPFE Hoses, Ignition Coils and Gas Cap. I have scoured the internet trying to find an answer but it seems like people just continuously throw parts at it until the code goes away.

Any additional thoughts to what could cause the issue?

Have you checked for broken vacuum lines?
Also see if where the vacuum line connector, for the EGR system, that comes off of the intake manifold is clogged with carbon.

The exhaust gas feedback port that's below the EGR valve, to which the high temp silicone hose fits & runs up to the DPFE sensor, can get clogged with carbon & cause mischief. Remove the EGR valve & look below it at the orifice to see if its clogged up.
If that's ok have a look at the high temp silicone hose, to make sure its not clogged up inside, cracked, loose fitting, crimped shut, ect.
Did the problem come about suddenly after some event????
