Third brake light on topper wiring

Third brake light on topper wiring
Hello All,
Recently put a topper on my 2001 f150 supercab 4x4.
It has the factory tow package with the with the dual 4 pin and 7 pin connectors.
Wondering where to find power for the third brake light on the topper and a 12v power source for the domelight in topper.
Any info would be awsome.
Thanks

Newer vehicles have an extra pair of wires up by the round connector for the trailer wiring. If you go the back side of the connector and follow the wiring, you will find two wires capped off and split out of the loom. These are your power and I believe ground for doing a topper.
If you try to tap into the tail lights or trailer wiring for the brake light you will need to diode isolate them. The green and yellow wires handle both brake and turn signal.

IF you go here: Bedford Public Library -- AARC - and enter the word "library" for both the user name AND the password, you will be able to access the maint manual AND the wiring diagrams for your vehicle (and many others).

You will not be able to tap into the trailer wiring for the third brake light on the topper, unless it has the electronics in it to ignore the turnsignals. The turnsignals and the brakes are on the same wire. The only thing else you could do is run a wire from the brake pedal switch directly to the topper third brake light, or if you already have a truck third brake light, tap into that wire.

I believe you guys are correct. I looked up the diagram, and there ia a lightgreen going back for "trailer tow". In the diagram, there are boxes with the trailer tow descriptions, and some of them have numbers. They look like the pin numbers of the plug. But the one for the lightgreen stop has no number, so it may be wrapped up and capped off like one of the previous posters said.
