Bed Rail Caps

Hey Guys
Does anyone know a good source for bed rail caps for my 66 LWB Diamond plate preferably. Can't seem to locate for older years or is there one of the newer ones that would fit. PO drilled holes every time he put something in the truck.
Thanks
RCC

Hey RCC, I live just down the street from you in Edgewood. I have also been looking for the same thing. I have looked all over for diamond plate bed rail caps for my '64 and have had no luck. My bed rails also have holes all over them from a topper installation sometime in its life. There my be a place to have them fabricated with the correct curvature for our bed rails. Maybe if they make two sets it would be cheaper. Let me know if you would be interested or if you run into a place that has them.

Thanks.

Your bed rails are after market and likely regional to you neck of the woods.

Bill can probably tell you the first year rails were offered by Ford but I think it was several years later than 66.

Wow small world! we do most of our work in edgewood wife worked at flower farm for years. I know a guy that's a metal Fabricater and i'm thinking of asking him to build a set, I'll find out how much, is yours a long bed? Let me know and i'll get back to you I'm almost sure there has to be some made somewhere that will work. I was at the wrecking yard in gorst the other day and there was a set on a truck there but they had already been sold and they fit like they were made for it. It's just a mater of finding them. It would be nice to get some feedback from bill but i think he's avoiding me. LOL.
Come on bill help us out here.
Thanks
RCC

RCC, I live back behind SEA-TAC Taxidermy on top of the hill. If you see a 64 f100 caribbean turquoise pickup with red hub caps around thats me. My truck is a long bed. I would be very interested in a set of the bed rails as long as the cost is reasonable. Thanks for the info. PM me if you find something and I'll do the same.

Thanks, Keith

I put a set of rails from Les Schwab on my 66 25 years ago and they still look great. I think they were for a 67 but fit just fine. I also got to by them a piece at a time if needed instead of a full set all at once. Good luck hunting

I was thinking about getting a set of the smooth rails for a 67 and reshaping them if I had to.What are yours made from? Looks like diamond plate.

Mine came with the diamond pattern. They did not need any re-work to fit. They bolted on and were about 1/8 of an inch from touching the side of the bed on the out side. I recently got rid of the truck (parted out, the bed is gone) and the sides under the bed rails were only lightly scratched in two places. Hope that helps.......Ross
