new cap

First time pick up owner. Should I install the cap over the bed railing or remove it. I saw one today with the rail on it and I thought that is neat. Others that I've seen had the railing removed.
You think I should go without for cleaner look? Thanks. 04 fx4 onyx black

id leave the bed railing on. otherwise you may get slight movement over time between the cap/bed that could wear through the paint and cause rust. on th '88 i had i put on some rubber bed caps before i put the cap on. the truck i have now came with a cap and its been on from day 1 and never been off, dont know what to expect if i take it off, but the last truck i had, i traded it in with the cap, i saw it later after the cap had been removed and there was several spots where rubbing had happend and caused paint damage. rust had also started where it rubbed through.
