I have a 2007 F-250 that has started to develop rust around the fuel fill neck, obviously, I beleive that this is from water in the fuel, but just curious if anyone else is having this problem? If yes, what has been done to clean up/prevent and to keep the cleanup from dumping into the tank? Thanks!
Wow, it's a diesel? And you think it's water in the fuel? I don't!
If it was that much water, you would be having to constantly drain the HFCM and change fuel filters.
More likely it's just from moisture collecting under the door and around the cap. It's pretty easy to take out the fuel filler fitting by disconnecting the filler hose clamp. Then just take some scotchbrite or steel wool to the fitting and maybe some paint. Reinstall.
