Don't get me wrong, Crazy001, anyone can drive in snow with any tire they want, given enough patience and driving expertise. I am a what you would call a spirited driver. The Generals did not perform the way i liked to drive. The 'pullin a car out' example was extreme, but, IMO, those tires still performed poorly on anything but dry roads
Hrmmm...I may have been a bit abrasive with my last post...my apologies.....
If a different tire suits your needs, by all means buy it. I'm not sure I'll be buying a new set of Ameritracs when it comes time to buy new meats either. I was just trying to say that for just getting around in the winter, they do just fine.
I didnt buy a new set of Ameritracs, i got a set of used ones with 80% tread left for about half price of new ones. Im going to try them cause i really dont do off road, and most of the time i wont be driving around in deap snow, its the occassional snow covered roads when the state trucks dont get them cleared off real quick.
