Ok. I don't have alot of experience with anything other than carburated engines, but isn't there an individual ignition coil for each cylinder? I know my father's 1999 E250 with a 5.4L uses this. A friend also recommended I look into the knock sensor?
Yes, COP - Coil On Plug - as in, sitting right on top of the plug.
The hole in the head where the spark plug sits is very deep - and if water got in there, which is very common, it'll misfire. Lots of dirt gets in there too... on my '01 V10 with only 20K miles on it, I had two holes with quite a lot of dirt in them, and one was actually wet.
So that's what you meant by wet hole haha. I'll be picking up a NAPA coil this week and doing what I read in another thread, which is start with the passenger side rearmost coil and replace it, then see if the vibe is gone. If not, use the old coil from that cylinder, and replace the next cylinder's coil with it and test drive. Repeat until the vibe is gone.
enduro if you're going that far, just pull all the COPs right away and see if they are wet and/or dirty. You might be surprised
There's a TSB from Ford on diagnosing bad COPs. In it they say that around half (50%) of "bad COPs" aren't really bad, just wet or the boot broke down.
Thanks for all the help guys. I'll be getting on this next week and will post if it fixed the vibe or not. To the OP, sorry for hijacking your thread haha. Hopefully these solutions will help you as well!

Our new Ford COP’s, the Sultans of Spark(S.O.S.), have
been designed with both durability and performance in mind.
And at $45 a coil it's cheaper than the OE replacements from NAPA which quoted me $59.
Although I am on somewhat of a time restriction to fix this (College student, going home tomorrow for 4 days, all tools and such are at home), do you have any distributors such as NAPA, Autozone, DriverFX? This way I could get it next-day and install while I'm home.

None of those, but we can UPS Next Day Air them to you direct.
Very nice. I will most likely be placing an order saturday then. So tuesday it would arrive? I assume sundays and veterans day don't count.
If you place your order on our website Saturday, we will ship it on Monday, arriving to you on Tuesday. Be sure to specify next day air shipping on your order. Our phone salesmen are off on weekends.
Or call us today to place your order, and just tell us not to ship it until Monday.
Well I don't have a credit card or debit card and I won't be home until Saturday when I can use my parent's then just give them the cash.
Because UPS won't accept cash, please call one of our salesmen to get a quote on the next day air ups fee, so that you can get a money order made out for the exact amount.
