Statement of Intent

Ok. My VIN blues and such are taken care of, and the time for restoration and modification is here. Ive decided to build a 1969 Harley Davidson Edition F250. Id rather be working on an F100, but you take what you can get. I wanna put in bucket seats, a center console, swap in a five speed, and hook it up with some correct(ish) badging. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, plz lemme know.

if you wanna make it an f-100 doesn't all he have to do is swap out the i beams and badges? theres i company that will make badges and stuff for your truck, i can rememebr off hand who, but im sure if you search it. seats up to 96 will fit with out to much fab, fivespd, wut engine you gonna run, cause you could grab a tranny out of a fox-body stang.

if you want bucket seats you will have to make your own floor mounts, and if you are doing that then you can use any that you like. i love the dodge neon SRT4 seats, they are great.

so a black truck and orange strip right? if you want you can take stock harley davison rims and have them slotted, have the lug nut holes elongated and get washers for them so you can use them on your hubs.

mirors would be good to change out to a more modern style, or in your case just buy more modern mirors.

getting a 3 inch front lift from autofab (the only one i know of) would help also. its a little under a grand, $900 ish when i was looking at it.

cab marker light on the top.

there are many many more things i could think of but i think that this will get you going

This is a great idea! Hey, why not just leave it as a -250, though.

Im going to leave it as an F250. Originally i wanted to go with the F100 cuz I was gonna go with airbags and such, but instead im gonna stay with the taller 250 profile.
Instead of doing the orange stripe bit, i was thinking flames. ive got a 390, and ive heard that its pretty hard to make a five speed fit that, so its kinduv a secondary thing. I would like to figure out how to make it a bit more highway friendly, but again, secondary consideration.
Brady makes the suggestion for a 3 inch front lift....why exactly? keep in mind that ive always been a muscle car and motorcycle guy, and this is my first truck project. my impulse is always to lower things.

Well, im definitely adding some bigger tires. the ones i have look way to skinny and such. No where near brawny enough. Hmm....mebbe a lift IS in order. I shall definitely take that under advisement. What about the rear tho? wont that look abit off with just the front lifted?

Speed Way sells a bell housing to mate a T5 or Tremec TKO to a FE...

Easy to swap a five speed in...

I would suggest you regroup and write down your goals of pros and cons of what you want so we dont see the truck on Craigs list next year for sale as a basket case. The F250 bags the same as a f100...

i know that the 250 and 100 bag the same, but i think im gonna go up with this project, instead of down. and your right, list and a real plan have to be formed. my gf is a photoshop wizkid so shes helping me put together a visual type plan, while im looking up other pieces and such. Is that expensive-*** bellhousing the ONLY way to bolt up that tranny?

What do they want for that bellhousing? I was thinking of maybe doing the same with my 390.

well first i bet your rear is a bit higher then the front right now, but you can just get some lift blocks (not to big) to go under the rear. or an adda leaf too

Well first off all changing a 69 f250 into an F100 aint gonna be a walk in the park !! I own a 70 F250... and just changing the I beams wont get you there..and I have the Dana 60 rearend and Its a completely different animal from the 9" ....and if your 69 has the Dayton disc's in the front.. thats going to be a complete suspension change to a f100 with the 5 lugs in front..

and If your have the dana 60 rearend...you can get moser or williams axles made in the right spline and they'll make them any lug pattern you want..and as far as your seats go...you can use what ever buckets you want .. Just get there sliders and rails... But depending on the height you may need...because every driver is different in feel...you can just make up aluminum blocks at you seat level for that...

JMO..good luck on your project!!
