good poi..........sorry Russ your avitar distracted me, now where was i? oh yeah good points Russ, chnaging form a 250 to a 100 is almost pointless as the frames were different too (right?).
LMAO guys......I just did that for a friend to see when he gets home from work....as he works days and I graveyard !! Sorry !! LMAO!!
Yeah the fram e is much thicker on the F250 as it is on the F100...and alot more Bracing in it also.... I had entended to do my f250 in that way also a few years aho.. and frop a stroked A460 in it...But for all the ptoblems with the suspension and the front end and the list goes on and on..He would just be better to pick-up a F100 and not have too go thu all the problems in the conversion was my point!!
I have donr some tricj Chit to my F250 and its been on a diet for about a year now...and I doubt it will ever get done to the weight of the F100...Maybe with some US Bodies Fiberglass... But thats money also...and alot of it! When you can get a decent F100 roller for for next to nothing..and just work on the more inportant part..like upgraded brakes and steering...and they dont have the split drive shaft and carrier baering..which is anothe pain in the Azzz...
And the list goes on...... Mine just going to be on completion..a Tow vehicle for what the Big motor goes in!! Its a Resto-Mod....and has some nice features added to it.. I'll post picks of my new block in my gallery here in a few !
Well one can buy Lakewood bell for a few hundred more bell and redrill the patterns....And that really is not expensive for speedways bell housing given ther are not really many other choices out there to fit the FE's singular round pattern.
Autofab Offroad Trucks modifies twin i beams for lifting for pre runner desert type trucks.
re arched rear leafs for lift and new front long travel suspension make one tough truck....
BTW, Russ, that is a beautiful truck! I like that color of blue!
I still have alot of work to do on it..But she'll be coming around soon...Thanks for the good words... I have just about got done with some interior upgrades...New sound system... Retro Tach with shift light, I had new carpet for it but they sent the wrong color so it went back...I think they have to send to India for the new Dye color?? LOL..because I still havent received it as of yet ! There is no more back bumper..its gotta roll pan now..
Waiting on a Bud that owns a aftermarket shop in FL.. to get back with me on a set of ION 138 series wheels... 16x6" up front and 16x10"s in the rear so I can run slicks when needed.. Shoot the list goes on and on...Hell it may never be done ..Between that and the new build...I'am more than broke!! LOL..
BTW ..I have the pics of the new block in my Gallery...
almost 400 b0nes for that bellhousing, yo. plus the cost of shipping and the new tranny
Ouch! The other alternative would be to change the gearing in my NP435, so I could use 1st gear, instead of it being a granny, and spread the rest out so it will go faster than 65 mph!

you can go 65? dang all i can do is 55 or sometimes 60 before my gas gauge starts to drop fast....
Im not gonna try and change my 250 to a 100. im gonna lift it a bit, bigger and wider tires, air kit for the rear (i plan to use it for towing and hauling, so ill need it for leveling) new paint and such. completely new interior, including the addition of A/C. Whats the best (See: Cheapest) way to add the A/C? Also thinking of power windows and locks. and ive got a bitchin idea for a powered and hidden iPod dock. Just gotta find the right stereo. Where would i look for a retro looking stereo with an Audio In jack?
Also, whats the best place to go for exhaust?
Well i'am glad to hear your not going to try and convert your F250 into an F100... So now your kind of going about it they way I'am doing my 70 F250..smart move..
And Plumbing A/C into one that hasnt had it before is a real mess to unless you got with Vintage Air and get a good kit from them...and its still alot of work...I pulled the A/C out of mine...Still have all the part and compressor for the underdash unit...I didnt want to pull anymore HP out of the motor...
And with a Sound system...I just left my cleaned up and rechromes unit in the dash !! and use a Kenwood am/fm sat/ipod /all the rest of the BS in the glove box and the Amps are under the seat.... Nice seat warmer on a cold morning !! LOL..
Im not too worried about pulling a few HP out the motor in exchange for A/C. I live in Texas, and living down here with out A/C isnt really an option. any chance you would sell me the A/C you pulled out of your truck?
I'm planning on installing AC in my 67. I don't mind the heat, but if I don't, the wife won't ride in it in the summer! One of the guys in the Neb. chapter has the under dash set up that he'll sell me. I'll have to see about the rest, though.
