I just completed a blend door installation today. It was highly difficult - bloody knuckles, cuts, sore body, but well worth it. Didn't remove the dash - I cut using a dremel tool. The biggest difficulty was removing the vent duct. I just used my dremel tool and cut it so I could get to the bolts that hold the actuator in place.
I saw your post this morning and thank you for your reply.
It sounds like it was pretty tough job. I found a a local mechanic who will replace it for 460 dollars cash plus parts I have not figured out which way to go.
Right now i am inclined to fix it myself I can not make 460.00 dollars in eight hours so it would seem to be time well spent!!
I am curious were the instructions on the heatertweeter kit pretty good? I can surely follow directions!!
Thanks again for your relpy and congratulations!!!
The instructions are pretty straightforward. I replaced mine this weekend. The most difficult thing to remove will be the vent duct right below the actuator. I caught pure hell trying to get it out of the way - in the end, I just used my dremel tool and cut away at it until I could get to the actuator. The air flow to the floor won't be affected by the cut. Other than that, it's not that bad a job. Hope this helps.
