99 F150, A/C blows hot air through vents. It is a blend door problem. I took the blend door motor out yesterday and it works fine. It feels like the door is broken. Can you replace just the door? Do you have to disassemble the whole dash to get to it. Any one have any advice on this?
thanks
To replace the blend door you have to remove the whole dash. The blend door isn't available seperately from Ford. They only sell the complete heater plenum assembly.
Hopefully HomerWinzlow will be here soon with some ideas for you. He seems to work on lots of these.
I have removed almost everything except for the large single piece. I can't seem to get it to disconnect around the passenger airbag. Anybody have any ideas?
thanks
I just did the heater blend door fix that I saw on this site yesterday and it worked great. You do not have to remove any of the dash to do the fix. You just have to lower the glove compartment and remove the blend door actuator and modify it a bit. This saves a lot of time and money and works great.
