Billet Grill Overlay
Put on a billet grill overlay from billet anything on my 08 screw lariat. Looks OK, but I can still see the honeycomb underneath. Has anyone tried painting the honeycomb black to mask it?

I had a friend that painted his, but you could still tell it was there. it did manage to camoflauge it enough to the the point you would have stare at it for a few to notice it. i will try to get a picture for you.

after researching this topic I have found that the best way is to get a billet grill not the insert. I've watched videos on how to install them and they look great. Plus i have a xl with the bar style grill so i'll have to get a new grill anyway. U could paint it with a flat lack and u may not be able to see it.

dixiemudder.....are u going to sell that OEM bar style grill insert? also, does that video show how to release those snaps without breaking the little posts, on the surround? thanks paul 05 xlt scab

I've swapped out two OEM grill inserts without breaking a single tab. The trick it so get a small flat blade screwdriver and work the insert out of the surround s l o w l y and carefully. The tabs will get chewed up a bit since the plastic isn't very hard, but none broke.
