thanks guy's.. don't really have the money..just happened to get a great deal on everything..I couldn't pass it up.. the IDM made me a little nervous doing..I never soldered any thing other then pipes and wires..it gave me a hard time at first and got me more worried.. but when it was all said and done it wasn't all that bad..if I hadn't been so worried in the first place..it would have gone better..but at least its done and she does feel stronger then before the mod...she idle's a lot better too..all and all it was worth doing...

Good deal, Ron. You just convinced me to try it out. I've been on the fence about this for months. I'll get 'er done now!!!
Andrew, you should have a VDH* PCM in your truck. My '02 has a VDH2 PCM. The way to tell is to pull the PCM and look at the sticker on the connector. If you know where to look, you can see it with a mirror and a flash light by looking at the PCM connector (the side closest to the fender). It comes out so easy though, you might as well pull it and save yourself the contorted positions... LOL
Here is what Joe was talking about in using a mirror. If you have a small digital camera you can take a pic easy enough.
It is below the master cylinder.
I should have taken pic's of the IDM..but I ended up pulling out an older set of needle nose that was stiff..worked like vise grip but with out the quick release..I clamed the resistor with the needle nose and rested the handles on the side of the IDM and let the weight of the pliers hold the restore in place while I soldered it. I then bent the resistor into a U shape till the other end lined up to where it needed to be ..just like Scott did..and then used the pliers to hold that end too..worked like a charm and only took one little drop..kept it clean looking to..it was prety simple once i stopped being so damn worried ....
Interesting and fun reading thread. Congratulations on your success. I started reading expecting the news that your wife had begun the change, hot flashes and all that stuff, but I guess not...............LOL...
