Between you and Chase I am convinced I should get rid of my XLE and go with a PMT.
Talk to Jody, all you need might be a reburn.
Andrew- it takes all of 10 minutes to pull the PCM, I'd just do it rather than mess with the mirror thing. Make sure the key is NOT in the ignition or you will fry the PCM. Pull the wire harness off the back (from under the hood), then 2 bolts inside the cab and it slides right out.

i talked to Jody..he told me the IDM would be a plus for the early bird cause it is 110 IDM..he also told me to find a PMT 1 to program for it..... i found a guy that sold me one dirt cheap...it made her run better and i do like the shifts better..Jody will make it better even better im sure...

I,m never got to ask Jody about the 140 mod in my 03, i wonder what his thought would be on a late 99-03, do you know Ron?? If not i'll call Jody...Thanks..
not going to be pulling the motor just yet..plans got changed..so the valve spings new bearings are going to have to wait..but thats ok..gives me time to find some studs....man i cant wait...<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
What has happened Ron? BTW, glad to see you're moving along. I may have to do that IDM mod myself here soon. Just haven't seen a big driving need for it. That might get me over 400 though.
a lot of guy's in 99.5 - 03 trucks are doing it with no problems..but Brandon posted this in a nother link on the IDM mod

I wanted to come to this thread to give the real reason Jody doesnt consider the IDM mod as a "must do" for the "normal stroker". During cold start up the IDM can retard timing by up to 27* and vary the Pulse width widely. the PCM runs three different tables of pulse width, inj. timing and tip in, depending upon the readings it recieves from the EOT, AIT1,AIT2, and ECT. This is why Jody also recommends starting the truck in the stock setting. the pressures that are created during those events are tremendous. the IDM fools the ECM into commanding for the higher timing which can lead to TOO MUCH fuel during the injection event for the lower operating temp conditions of the motor.

i was going to do this over thanksgiving weekend...but the guy i got the injectors from bent a rod in his truck running the new hybrids on the dyno. one good run of 529HP second run she let go..now he needs my injectors to sell ASAP..i dont have cash for bearings right now so ill put that on hold..hate to pull the motor and not do the bearings..so ill hold off a little longer...

Sheesh. 529? I assume he had forged ones. That sucks. He didn't window the block did he?
529 on a OBS 410 DRW truck running the 17 HPOP D66 turbo...no window...he got lucky..
We'll see. Those are forged units and something bent them. For that to bend, there was a lot of pressure all around that hole and on the crank area webbing. I hope he got lucky, but I would say he has a total rebuild in his future. That sucks.
Or are we talking about a pushrod? That would be lucky.
