The last time I had the fuel filter housing and FPR off, there was a bunch of crud in the bottom of filter bowl as will as the black bowl on the bottom of the FPR. Here is my question, if i was not able to get all the crud out of either bowl, could it possibly cause a clog somewhere else in the fuel system? if so, where should i check? I have cleaned the screen from the inside of the bowl, but don't know where else to look.
I doubt it, the fuel comes in the housing on the outside of the filter then goes through the stand pipe after the it has been filtered. The filter has a rubber gasket that seals on the stand pipe from the unfiltered fuel.

The next time you have the bowl out you really should try to get all that crud out of there. That junk usually contains moisture that eventually leads to corrosion / pitting and if the pits get large enough the bowl will leak. Once you get it all clean a coat of J-B Weld will extend the life of the bowl if the pitting has started.
I understand how the fuel flows, but was more concerned wrether the FPR could get clogged and cause a no start. I have it out right now and going to clean everything well. I can keep the heating element out of the bowl, correct?
Rodney, thanks for the JB weld tip, I'm not going to do it this time but will keep it in mind.
