Hydro Boost Leaking

Hydro Boost Leaking
Hey ya'll
My '91 F-450 w/ 7.3 International has been leaking hydro fluid from up where the brake pedal goes through the firewall. It seems to be coming from the back of the hydroboost unit. The brakes also have no pedal, you have to push the thing to the floorboards to get it to stop. Do you have to replace the whole Hydro unit or can you replace seals. Would fixing the leak fix the pedal.

What is leaking is the Input seal, I have not found any repair scheme for that. I would guess it requires replacement............check with a brake specialist in your area.
Note.....To remove... pump the pedal several times to discharge accumulator. Remove the master cylinder from HB unit and prop it up out of the way.
DO NOT pump the booster with master cylinder removed...........

hydro boost
My hydro boost is leaking on the inside of my firewall. I just bought a new hydro boost, power steering pump and power steering box. High pressure hoses are new, as well as a few low pressure. I was cleaning my truck when I noticed it was leaking. Any advice on what to do? I have pressure, but there are times when the brakes grab and hold and other times I have no pressure at all. Please help.

If you just replaced the unit and it's leaking, return it....
Other wise you can get seal kits http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydro-boost-repair-rebuild-kit-NEW-complete-2771004-/331234467794?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d1f1cdfd2&vxp=mtr
Be warned though, to remove the push rod from the front of the hydro unit is a pain in the a$$ as it's a crimpped connection and not really a user service able item, it can be done though.
