well have some bad news, saw a puddle under my '06 f250ccsb today and traced it to my hydro boost. anybody else have this problem? also my exaust manafolds are leaking (black soot around ports) do they have gaskets or are they machine fit?
my 2006 250 4x4 just had the hydro pump go out it did not leak it worked intermintly the power steering pump is leaking from the back and i think the rear main seal is leaking also the rear end is linking at the can the truck is at ford right now my exhaust is got the same black soot coming from the exhaust manafolds
but when i start the truck up and fee for the leak on the exhaust i do not feel anything you only have 1 min till it is so hot
i will let you know what happens when the truck comes back
I read something about exhaust manifolds leaking at the cylinder head. The mainfolds are mounted to the heads without gaskets at the factory. Ford has a gasket to help solve the leaking exhaust manifold. Not sure if it is listed for all engines but I saved the part number.
If you bring your truck to ford and complain they will put gaskets in since it came without gaskets. The job isnt too hard i did them my first day at ford
'88_F-150: Want to take the drivers side manifold off to put in EGT probe. Don't want to take any chances of metal chips getting into the turbo. Can you get at all the manifold bolts from underneath or do you take the plastic fender well off? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
