My desktop computer just started giving me fits. It goes on line and all comes up but my mouse curser will not move. The curser is there but will not move. I tried a known good mouse and had the same results. I spent two hours on the phone with someone I could hardly understand and he gave up. I am not good at navigating with the keyboard but am wondering if I can download a mouse driver. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Is your mouse cordless or wired? As snowbunny said a reboot is in order, lots of times a reboot will cure little quirks like this. My wifes computer does this every so often and restarting fixes the problem. If it is a cordless mouse, try changing the batteries and hitting the "connect" buttons to restart the connection.

Mice do not need drivers installed they can use the built in driver..
Does the computer work fine other than the mouse??
Go into Device manager and see if there are any errors.. Indicated by a yellow information symbol..
If it just happened you can try doing a system restore back a few days.. Maybe there was an update that gummed things up...

Corded I hope?
Drivers are built into all the recent Windows products, any corded mouse (serial, ps/2, usb) should work on a cold boot up. You might try unplugging all external devices except for the mouse on a cold reboot (shut off for two minutes - unplug from wall - power back on).
If you have a wireless router this might be interfering with the mouse.
