is there any way to add limited slip to my truck? I currently have an open rear and it really stinks when i take my truck into some sloppy situations...
I would also consider a selectable locker but fear that it would cost too much money
Certainly, you'd probably want to call a driveline shop/4x4 shop and buy a good limited slip like a True Trac. Prices are different around the country, so you'll want to call around, probably ask friend or family about who's used the particular shop (reputation can be important). Most any shop will be able to order the locker/limited slip, but you *might* find a lower online price and you'll want to ask the shop if it will affect the price. They may give you a slight discount if you buy the limited slip through them, or might charge a slightly higher price for install if you don't.
Edit to add, if you're considering going bigger in tires, or looking for more torque you might also consider changing the gears (front and rear) since you'll have at least one diff open anyway. If you're keeping the truck for a while it might be a worthwhile thing to put gears from and rear and put a True Trac up front too.
Whatever you do don't put an OE ford LS diff in. An E-locker and a "posi" like the detroit truetrac arn't that far off pricewise. I believe its Auburn that makes a clutch type limited slip/ e-locker combo diff but I don't think they make it for the 10.25 or 10.5, they are expensive also.
