1966 Ford non limited slip to Limited slip/posi

Hello everyone. My truck has the below axle.

17 = Ford 9 Inch / 3.25-1 / Non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity

If I wanted to make this a Limited Slip/Posi rearend what could I do? Just add the stock limited slip parts to this rearend?
Has anyone done this to the stock rearend?

Thanks guys and gals.

There is an article in the how to section that gives a detailed description on how to do it. I read it a couple months ago.

A limited slip rear end is not BOTH wheels propelling the truck, it's only used when one wheel spins. When that happens a limited slip supplies power to the other wheel.

Ford once offered accessory dealer installed LS kits. In addition to the LS kit, there was another kit needed to change the pinion gears. There were several LS kits, depending on the size of the pinion bearings.

The LS kit consisted of: Case, Clutches (steel & lined), Axle Gears, Hub, Spring, ID tag, and misc bolts, a pin and lubricant.

B9AZ-4880-C .. Limited Slip Kit - Use with 2 pinion medium bearing differential.

C1AZ-4215-C .. Pinion Gear Kit.

You essentially need a "posi" differential. Then you need the required parts AND KNOWLEDGE to swap the ring gear over, then re-set the backlash and pinion depth. Not hard, but you have to KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING when setting up rear-end gears.

Another alternative would be to install a Lock-rite or similar. It installs in your standard open center section and will give you an honest "locker" rear-end. No special tooling, and for that matter, great experience is required. ~$300 - $400 and a couple of hours later, your in business. I had one in my Bronco and loved it. Lockers aren't for everyone however......
