It most likely will be warrantied, but I highly doubt you'll be able to sucker them into titling it to you...as a matter of fact, I don't think they legally can.
If you somehow managed, though, it would be totally free of the DPF, CAT, and EGR system.
Hey Matt. The truck was ordered for a local company to ship to a overseas office. Something happened to the deal and they are stuck with the truck.
Talked to the manager today and he is ready to sign the deal.
BTW it is a 6.4
I'm personally going to drive down there and kick you in the groin if you pass that one up. That is a RARE find....seriously. Truck trading time for Steve
Wait one minuite! Is it possible to get parts in Mexico for a 6.0 with out the EGR and get the programing for the same?
You can't get the parts persay, but you can get the truck...but typically ONLY if it is for export use.
The export programming uses a different chipset ID on the processor to make it incompatible with the normal 50-state processors, so you can't just take a program from one and install into another....unless you really know what you are doing.
I am looking at a 09 King Ranch, But the window sticker has "for Export Only 7" on it. Does anyone know if it will be under warranty in the US?
I do know that I will need to have a CAT and DPF installed plus the PCM reprogramed before I can title it.
im not sure he can legally sell it to you w/o all the required emisions equipment installed. would ford even warrenty it? i think it would have to be brought up to spec first.
The only thing he can loose is some time by letting the dealer go forward with the deal. Worse case scenario is the dealer will call him and say hey bring the truck back we can't tag it.. The dealer will then have to void the deal and will mostly likely make him a smoking deal on a US spec truck to make up for the embarrassment.
Plus he will get to drive an 09 for a little while for free :-)
Concerning warranty if the Ford dealer sells it to him then warranty will be covered. Selling a new vehicle that has a voided warranty without informing the customer is a big time non-no and the dealer would be in deep you-know-what.
Export only means just that. That truck cannot be titled in the 50 states. I also believe that the warranty is only good outside the states. If they sell it to you they will be taking it back when they try to do the paperwork.
Exactly, just because a dealer sells you something doesnt mean that it is legal to operate in the USA. The truck clearly states "For Export Only" on it, if someone buys it with the intent of operating it in the USA but cant, it is no fault of the dealer or manufacturer, the product has been labeled acordingly, it is not the dealers responsibility to determine how/where the buyer will opeate the vehicle either.
