New tail gate
so the tailgate hardly ever got used and was stored away in the barn! the owner of the truck put a plywood board on the backside of the tailgate so any thing in the box would not ram into it and ding it up!
the side facing the inside of the box is like new! and the trim is also like new! its like a time traveler! oh and the older guy said he was cleaning out his fathers barn and wanted to get rid of it and make room so he knocked off another 15 bucks so for 115 bucks i got a original Ford tailgate with complete trim! and it has no dents or dings and mint trim!
i sure wasn't complaining! here is a picture, i have to take some better pictures-Brent
i really needed the Ranger XLT tailgate trim, the tailgate i had, was kinda rough it was rotted out at the hinges and rust and dents all over it, and would have been a lot of work to repair, plus it had dents on the top edge which is common on trucks tailgates, i think thats why its so hard to find mint tailgates, these old trucks did lots of hard work for many years, and people either backed there truck into something or even damage from a trailer tongue, but i was really glad because my trucks tailgate was really messed up, we had a minor accident with the engine picker, we where using it to lift the box off the frame, with the stock 4 bolt locations on the bed floor, and the chain slipped and the whole box went back into the tailgate!
so the trim was really messed up, thats why i am so happy to have found this original ford mint! tailgate and the trim was just a bonus!
plus that trim really helps hide the tu tone line on my truck, and the truck is in full frame off restoration, its just about half doneand has any one noticed the search forums is not working right? i search something and it comes up with nothing? any one else having this problem? it says that my search is to common? i just searched words like front bumper? and thats too common? then how will i ever search the old threads?
