NEW Alaska Roll Call
#93
New member out of Eagle River. Picking up a new to me 97 F250HD 4x4 shortbed version with the 460 motor in a few days. This will be my second Ford, first one was a 2001 F150 reg cab with the V-6 and standard shift.
Looking for some 17" rims to fit the 97 F250HD, finding tires for the currently installed 16.5 wheels are hard to come by so I want to go up to 17's. Here's a pic of the truck as it sits right now.

I'm back
Names Ron. I drive a 03 F250 Super Duty with a 7.3 power stroke. 4" lift. 6 position power programmer, oversized exhaust, advanced air intake and a bullet proof transmission. I live in Anchorage part of the year and in Bridge City Texas the rest of the year. I'm back on the gulf coast of Texas for the winter. Starting to get cold down here it only got to 94 today. Its 4507 miles from my place in Anchorage to My place in Bridge City. I've put 26,000 miles on my truck since December. That's why I bought a diesel got 147, 000 miles on it so it's just about broke in. Its kinda funny that I only post when I'm not in Alaska guess I get homesick.

Yeah they wanted $1700.00 just to do a title transfer when I bought my truck. So I drove it to Anchorage and it only cost $152.00 and that was just for the tags. So it pretty much paid for the trip. But I have a big southern style family down here in east Texas and in Louisiana that goes back to when the French owned it. There are a few advantages down here like the cost of fuel $3.60 a gallon for diesel and groceries rents pretty cheap down here too and I can go fishing in January without a jacket and I sure love Cajun and Tex-Mex food. I used to work all over world and my favorite place in the whole world is the Mat-Su valley. I went to high school in Wasilla class of 77. I also grew up in a little town called St. Francisville Louisiana which is a small town on the Mississippi river lots of family there too it's about a 3 hour drive from my place in Texas. Don't know how much longer I'll be able to make the drive back and forth between Alaska and down here but when it comes time to choose I'll take Alaska. Spent the whole year up there last year. Got a daughter and grandson in Anchorage and a son and a few hundred relatives down here. And I sure like driving all over the country. Going to go visit my family in Orange California (kinda grew up there also) after I recover from my cancer surgery next week. I guess I love the adventure of going all over the place. Check out my album got some nice pictures there.
