NEW Alaska Roll Call
#31
I've got a 2001 F350xl 5.4L Crew, Just bought it at Quality auto in Anchor town, 30K org miles! Very clean, a little underpowered but gets the job done. It is a great truck so far. I would like to upgrade the bench seat to capt'ns chairs; anyone know of a place I can get some CLEAN used ones?

An out-of-stater, who'd love to call Alaska home.
Nah, what you do is post a pic of some really really really really hot chick, completely nude, holding a sign that says "I'm on FTE... are you?" and we'll have guys flocking the site!! And chicks will be like "oh my gawd.. if my husband or boyfriend sees this I"ll lose them! So I have to join and learn all of this truck stuff!!" and then we'll get lots of chicks! I'LL HAVE SOMEONE TO PMS WITH!!! YAY!!
I hope my avatar might suffice considering the family decorum of FTE.
Hello everyone:
I'm the Chapter Leader for the recently resurrected Connecticut Chapter.
I wintered over in Juneau 2004-2005, I arrived by ferry and flew home.
I came to Juneau in October, 2004, to work for TEMSCO Helicopters as a helicopter mechanic with the anticipation that TEMSCO would acquire the assets of ERA Helicopters (iirc) there in Juneau. ERA declined all bids and I was released at the end of about three months with TEMSCO.
The timing was right and I landed a better paying job working as a powerhouse operator for Green Creek Mining, Co., out on Admiralty Island.
After a month working there, I decided the powerhouse crew didn't have the Company's best interests in mind and so I came back East in March 2005.
I went to Anchorage sometime later to interview for a helicopter mechanic position, they made promises but wouldn't put them in writing for signature by the 'authorized' individual, so I declined.
'Authorized individual' - that employment contract disclaimer that reads to the effect that unless you have a signed letter then nothing that was said to you supersedes this employment agreement.
Best wishes in the future of your chapter.

My name's Tom, I'm a land surveyor living in Eagle River, and I'm currently driving an '89 chevy (I won't further defile the forums here by going into any more detail than that). Lets just say that I got a ridiculously good deal on it, so it'll do until I can sell it and buy or trade it for another Ford. I came up last year from Georgia to survey for the summer and couldn't stay away. Here's why. (I'm the guy showing off his Marlin 45/70)
I did drive my '92 F150 up last May and back down in October, but had a co-driver to share the 4300+ miles (one way). Here it is at a pullout west of Whitehorse.
This time no one could take enough time off to make the trip and I didn't feel like braving the AlCan in the dead of winter solo so I flew. I am keeping an eye out for an 88-96 Bronco with a 5 speed, though. If I can find one, I'll drive it back down to Georgia at the end of the field season, do an SAS (definitely) and swap in a Cummins 4bt (hopefully). If I don't find one by the time I get ready to head back south, I'll just sell the *cough cough* chevy *cough*, fly back, and swap a 4bt into this (that's my cousin driving, btw) and drive it back up next spring.
Anyway, if you guys have one of those get together things you were talking about in the bs thread, I'd be sure to come by and introduce myself in person.
