purchased a pioneer avicf-bt90 double din radio for the ex,with gps.
my question is this i see many members have avics in their trucks how did you mount them??
i cant seem to find a kit to install a double din in a x?
also what are you using to enable the steering wheel controls/backseat controls? i dont have rear dvd but am considering adding a backseat screen.
any advice would be great.
do the heater controls on the steering wheel still work???
You will most likely need an adapter to retain the steering wheel radio controls. I wouldn't expect changing the radio to effect the climate controls, but strangers things have happened. PAC audio should have the interface Products
I believe you have to do a little trimming of the factory hole to make the radio fit, but it's close enough you don't need adapters. The cage should slide in and lock down with the little tabs.
For the rear video, look on the back of the head unit, there is probably a video out connection. RCA would be easy, just run a single RCA cable through the dash to where you will want the display.
I just installed a JVC double din in my 04 and it did not effect the HVAC controls on the steering wheel but I'm missing the volume control so I will be getting the PAC interface soon.
