Joe, this may be a question you can answer...all of the mobile broadband plans I'm looking at are based of a certain GB of usage. Both Verizon and Sprint have the same price for 5GB. My question this: is there any way for me to tell or test what my monthly average GB internet usage may be?
Not really, Jeremy. Most (all?) phones have a byte counter (usually separated by UL & DL plus total) that can be reset, so you can see where you are. I'll have a look at mine later and let you know where mine's at. 5GB doesn't seem like much for a fair amount of browsing though. It really adds up fast!!
Well, Joe, I don't think a byte counter on my phone would help much, like you say. I'm more worried about how much browsing I do on my actual computer. I'd hate to sign up for a wireless broadband account only to have it not be enough, which is exactly what you're eluding to with 5GB not being much. Sprint says it's something like 1200 songs (3 min average) and 100K emails. However, with all the forum browsing and work related stuff I do online the song and email equivalent doesn't help me much. I may just be SOL.
Science channel- Deconstructed, I love that show. they tear apart everything and tell you how it works. This program would have saved my parents a lot of money when I was a kid.
Jeremy, go with the unlimited plan, and write it off as a buisness expense. You send email for work, right? You also surf diesel forums, all for research for the lubricants you sell.

I use my phone as my modem over a BlueTooth connection. Sounds like you want to go with a dedicated broadband card. There are byte counting tools for the PC too. I use one called DU Meter. You can DL it for free, I think. It's been so long since I DL'ed it, I have no idea if it's still out there. Let me know if you want to try it and can't find it. I can email it to you.
Brandon, I already write off my internet as a business expense. It would cost a little more to go mobile broadband, but having internet access at all times might be worth it. If I go over though, the overage charges wouldn't be worth it but then I'm stuck in a contract and would have limited internet usage. Even though I can write it off as a business expense (I write off quite a bit, as I'm sure many of us who are self employed do), I'm still conscious and careful with my spending on business.

I use the Verizon USB Card. I love it. I take it all over when Im inspecting homes. I live out in the sticks and its kinda slow but when I hit a big city like Richmond, its like night and day.
Of course I had dial up til like 10 months ago. Cable companies still wont venture out this way. It was either this, dial up, or satellite. I chose this so it can go in laptop or desktop and its portable.
I'm going to look into it a little further. I don't know if any of the cell companies have a "trial" period or not, but I'd like to try both Sprint and Verizon for a few weeks to see if it would meet my needs and possibly what my data usage would be.
With that, I'm out. Gotta be up at 4:30 to hit the road again. Y'all have a good night.
... I think I stepped on his tail that day or something......LMAO....
I guess he shouldn't have left it lying on the floor!!!

Thats hilarious. For some reason I am loving this one, because it is the humility that lasts and lasts..
A long long time ago I worked as a hotshot delivery driver for a well and pump supply company. They had a truck driver there who was a bit of a weirdo... as a joke one day, someone put a rainbow triangle sticker on his truck. What freaked people out is that he saw it was there and left it there and never said anything about it. He pretty much got them all back with their own joke, it backfired on them.

I watched the video too and I was wondering the same thing.
Randy's been having issues with is '93 Cheap Cherokee. V8 (5.2 liter I think). ANYWAYs....he claims he filled it up the other day with that 10% ethanol 90% unleaded crap. I asked him what he did that for since he doesn't have a flex-fuel enabled vehicle, and he swears up and down that such a small percentage of ethanol is okay to run in a standard gasser.
So long story short, he says it sputters when he pushes down on the throttle, as if it is running out of fuel. Once he gets up to highway speeds, it behaves normally. It doesn't have a fuel filter that I am aware of, or anything else that would need cleaning. Fuel pump is working obviously, it never quits it just sputters. This is all 2nd hand information, I haven't heard or seen it doing this.
A bit of background on this vehicle: It has a coolant leak. I have been all over his *** about figuring out where this is coming from, and told him to check out the water pump. He says it only leaks when its parked, never running.
When he first got it (was his grandfather's Jeep) it had an Oxygen sensor issue, but has seemed to run just fine since then.
It also burns oil. Not much, but a little bit. Oil pressure in this thing is all over the place, to the point to where it is worrisome. It gets up to the high end of the gauge when you really lay on the throttle, and drops back down when at idle.
So, upon first glance, what do you think? Once I get there I'll have a chance to inspect it.

E10 perfectly fine E85(85%Ethanol) is when the engine needs special modifications to run properly.

can't remember when they started it but my '98 has the filter inside the tank, nice place to put it
