4 Wheel drive linkage

I brought my 1995 F350 to the mechanic to see why my Low Range was not engaging. Basically, the 4WD stick wont push down, so I cant get it to engage into 4Lo. In any event, the guy said I would need a whole new assembly and linkage, he said its all seized up. Where can I find this part guys? I dont even know what that would be called.

Why don't you take it apart and clean it up?
Save money and have the satisfaction of resourcefullness.

He said it was bent, so I went with that, I dont think it can be cleaned, it wouldnt matter.

4wd shifter

mine is stuck every fall, so take it off and soak it in penetrating oil, it should be fine

I agree, it probably can be cleaned. I try to shift my trucks through all the ranges every month or so to avoid this.

Mine is stuck, shifter wont even move out of 2wd. Just clean the linkage?

How do you get those pins out connecting the links to each other?

I'm lazy at heart but patient. I got underneath with a can of penetrating oil and squirted everything real good, did it again in a couple of days, and again a couple of days later. Got real comfortable in the truck and started easing the shifter a little at a time. As soon as I get a little progress, I'd move the full motion of whatever I had gained a few times then squirt again. Mine wouldn't budge, but after the week of squirting and about 2 hours of working back and forth, Everything was moving like new. Them just shift through the full range once a month or so and give a shot of some kind of lubricant now and the.
