I just about finished gutting what I want from the old '90 before I'm obligated to get rid of it. I AM going to miss the old thing. I might list it on Craigs as a project. The old one was built without A/C & the newer truck had it. The compressor is long gone but was modded for R134. It's just too dang hard to service right bank, so I'd prefer plain firewall box & the A/C accessories stripped away. I pulled the climate vent box from engine side of old Ranger. Do I need the dash control or anything? I should note the heater lever never really wanted to shut off all the way, but if I need those parts, fixing that should be easy. I also yanked my nearly new heater core just in case. OT, but fun: I also had some fun getting fogs to switch on, slipped in some nice Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs & put some nice but cheap 5x7 triaxials in the doors. Still debating on what suits the backside for best overall sound. Easiest mod with my current parts would be modding in my JVC 6x9 triaxials, but not sure if the mids & highs would really come out clear from rear corners having pass side seat all the way back & fluffy seat covers. A small amp & cheap Pyramid 6" midbass drivers probably better. The ECM box in the way on driver side for my old 6x9 boxes. On the upside: the cheap Lightning 5x7's ROCK & modern jazz sounds pretty darn sweet as is. Probably better than more expensive coaxials. The middle range is much cleaner & stronger & the highs are at least as good as Pioneer. Infinity just sounded funny - kinda like Bose to my ears. That's about all I saw at the big chains.
