It's hard to find a good alignment shop you can trust. I learned to do alignments about 25 yrs ago at an independent auto shop. I was always used to doing my own. I did not have touch my vehicles afterwards. They would track straight like DC described. I don't have that access to the alignment equipment like I used to and find it hard to trust anyone else to do it "my way". I have had only one alignment (done by a NTB), on my wife's Explorer, and was not satisfied. The new tires still wore the same (too much negative camber). I later rebuilt the front end myself, at the next set of tires, and used my ex boss's alignment equipment to "do it right." Good to have a friends in many occupations. You never know when you might need some help.
I worked for a friends dad in an alignment/brake shop in high school. Of course this was before computers, but GOOD alignment techs were still hard to come by. This guy set up all the race cars in the area and did stuff like line up the old twin i-beam trucks nobody else could make drive right. I have seldom been satisfied w/an alignment since! Its refreshing to finally find one that 'gets it' - good work and thanks for sharing.
Always ask for the specs when you get an alignment. If it shows within tolerances, but at opposite extremes - don't be afraid to tell them you want a better alignment!! If you have a lifted truck and get a 'good' alignment, ASK what he did for ya - positive toe (how much), etc.
Yep, always nice to find an alignment guy that is good and takes pride in his work.
I wouldn't recommend this, but I can let go of the wheel at 95mph and my truck will go perfectly straight on 38" tires.
Where did you get yours done cause mine isnt lifted and ive had it aligned 4 times and its still wearing the outside of the tires and wont track that well.

Call and talk to Joe....he's the manager in the upstairs shop where they do the tires, balancing, alignments, etc..
I take all 12 of our vehicles there.
Probably be taking my 07 there soon as I have some 7000lb coils, Bilsteins, adj trac bar and caster cams to install and I'll need it aligned after that. Got the heavier coils to help with the 9'2" Boss V XT that just got put on.
All the new machines out now are green and red, go and no go. Their not idiot proof. They even show pictures to instruct them on how to make the adjustments. If you have a vehicle that is not perfect or original they have no clue on what to do. The only thing they know about caster and camber is that it's a word on the screen that stands for some kind of adjustment. I started on a Lite-a-line machine that was ten years old when I started 20 years ago. When I was still working for someone else and doing alignments the state police would bring their cars for me to do. It's not rocket science but it is a science. The only way to find a knowledgeable person is word of mouth.

OT but....I had no idea what a 9'2" Boss V XT was. Now I do. Pretty slick plow. LINK
Yep, it's a pretty nice setup and pretty damn big too. Luckily my truck is high enough that with the plow raised and it V'd back my corners are 4-6" off of the ground.....the one in the vid looks like it almost scrapes. The 7000lb coils should keep it even a bit higher on my truck.
Customer of mine is a Boss dealer, so naturally I bought it from them.

Damn, are good alignment shops that few and far between?
I guess I'm lucky I'm not that far from them, great guys.
Although I've been there when a Dodge dealer couldn't align a guy's lifted ram....so the dealer had sent him there for these guys to do.

A Tire HUH? I know who they are. I have a pile of Tshirts of thiers. My Dad has gone there for years and years with his company trucks until we moved to crystal lake. Ill have to head over there, they are great guys over there.
Also, you went with the XT huh? Its a nice blade and throws snow like crazy. The only tricky part is you cannot tell if its straight or not with the way the moldboard angles up at the ends. Some people got rod of the plow cause it drove them crazy. Looks like we will have a good year this year!!

Yep, great guys. Depending on how long ago you went, you probably remember Joe....as he's been working there for over 10yrs.
Yeah, went with the XT. They had a couple in stock when I went to look at them, figured it would be nice for doing our shop lot and the long azz drive I do (customer is on 16 acres, long drive that winds through the woods). I've never ran a Boss before....or a V for that matter, LOL. I've only ran Western, but I've seen guys plow with the Boss V's and I've been impressed with them. The little bit I was playing around with it, I can get it pretty close to dead straight.
Hoping for some good snow again
Now I just need to order up some gauges...I've got my eye on 6 or 7 Autometer Sport Comp IIs
Good to hear about someone wanting to do a quality job with a "can do" attitude.
Don't find many people like that anymore. I will recommend him to a buddy of mine
that lives in Willis. Thanks for sharing.
