Hi folks. I have the dreaded only-high-speed blower motor problem on my 2005 Ex. Based on the threads the likely culprit is the blower motor resistor pack. For those who have changed this unit, is it located just forward of the blower motor (bolted to the pass front quarter panel) with a several wire flat harness? Also, what was te replacement cost?
Similar symptoms for my '03 with a 7.3. Replaced it the other day. I can't remember the exact cost. $55? Part was updated in 2006.
It mounts to the whole blower housing on the passenger side. On mine, I had to remove the four mounting bolts that hold a pair of solid heater lines in place. Three are obvious, one is not as it is kind of on the bottom of that big housing. I think I used an 8mm or 10mm socket for all of the fasteners including the two that keep the pack on.
