My book lists no torque value for that bolt, I never worried about it. I just tighten the little bolt "good and snug" then just a bit more. It is a grade 8 bolt and is very strong so don't worry to much about snapping it real easy.

Here a diagram of it,

Also note it has a factory lock nut, it has nylon in it, if you used heat to get it off you should replace the nut if not the bolt too. Only way to get it would probably be in a kit anyway.

Yea but that would be on the lighter duty trucks though.

hd=heavy duty...danr1 is right but unfortunately no torque value...i can crank on it till it breaks, seizes the adjusting cable or too loose were it comes apart...btw, in the diagram it is the 'locknut'...if i cant find it no big deal ill get it tight enough...as far as the truck it is for a 94 e350 cutaway drw with a dana 70 12.125x3.5 brake shoes which is the same as my 89 f350 cc drw...sorry for not including more info but i was in a hurry

i found 20 ft/lbs for the wheels cylinders, can anyone confirm this?

I have never used a torque wrench to put any of that stuff together, I tighten the bolts just like I would any bolt of a given size. Big bolts = 3 vain's, small bolts = well....not so tight! lol

I use a torque wrench on stuff that matters, engine parts, stuff it is important that the bolts are evenly tight. Not stuff that is merely or simply "bolted" together.

^^^^ what he said.

Also, I rarely use a torque wrench even for the important stuff. I know, shame on me. But I can grab the wrench 12" away from the nut and estimate that I'm putting 12 lbs of force on it, so I figure that's pretty darn close to 12 lb-ft.
