when i had mine done i got to see the pictures at the dr's office when i had to go in for a follow up and boy it was gross, when i went to the ER the last time for the pain the night i got admitted after I had the CT done and they seen how bad of shape i was in they asked me how i got to the er and i said i drove myself and asked why they told me that i should not be walking and i said well i did they said if i would of waited one more day that the gull bladder would of bursts cause that is how bad it was. i recovered very fast from the surgery and only have 2 bad scars now lol, and yes the gas that moves up to the shoulder does hurt after but not as bad as the pain i went threw with the gull bladder lol. my first meal i ate after getting home was roman noodle soups for a while and still eat them and i even eat just about anything now with out the worry of the pain after wards lol.

you got lucky they misdiagnosed me for so long i had stones blocking the duct and i had to have the old kind of surgery with a big old scar across my body.. then they found out i was allergic to morphine.. i was talking to people who werent there and the ceiling was moving lol but after a few weeks of recovery i was fine... percosets are fun!! lol i was out of work for like a month cause of my line of work but i know people who went the laproscopy route that were back at the job in two weeks

the only after effect you will have is that as soon as you eat you will need the bathroom soonafter and i mean soon after so be wise to that

I have a check up scheduled for Monday, and my plan is to be back at work on Tuesday. Right now the pain meds are holding off the bathroom end of it but I know about having one close after I eat, thats one of the first things that is told to me when I talk to someone who has had it done. It will all work out though, and I will learn what I can eat and what to stay away from. They superglued me back togather so I wont even have a scar to show from it.

My wife had a consultation with a specialist yesterday. Basically she was told the same thing as what she heard in the hospital. She's gonna have to wait till probably July. If there's another occurance, she's got to live through the pain. And if they were to go in, she couldn't get the laparoscopy. There would be a huge incision, followed by a huge scar.

The first time she had an episode was in July. Doctors told her to see the specialist she saw yesterday, but if another attack happened before then, they'd go ahead and take it out. Well, stuff happens, turns out it's real risky for women in her condition, hence the waiting till July again.

On a more positive note though, it keeps here from eating unhealthy foods.

JULY??? let me tell you they couldnt figure it out with me and when that thing went it went... she needs to go to the hospital with any attack cause the thing could blow... Mine was so infected that they werent sure if they would have to wait to give bags of IV Antibiotic to get rid of infection so i could have the surgery... tell her to limit her physical activity with stretching and bending that kinda did me in.. i was putting in panelling the day before the last attack

Well, I wasn't gonna say anything till next month, but, we're expecting a baby.

That's why she can't get the operation.
